3DE Magnet Program at Banneker High School

Application form will open for SY26-27 September 1, 2025 to July 27, 2026

Application Process

Step 1: Submit Online Application 

  • Parents/guardians must complete the Change of School Assignment(COSA). COSA application closes January 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.: https://www4.fultonschools.org/cosa
  •  Submit the 3DE Magnet Program application online. The application window will remain open until all seats are filled. The program operates on a rolling basis:  https://forms.office.com/r/kmpdQ0R0Ge
  • Each student requires a separate application.
  • The application link will be posted on Banneker High School’s website, in weekly newsletters, and shared on social media platforms. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram: 3DEBanneker
  • The application includes:
    • Student and parent/guardian information
    • Middle school details
    • Academic and career interest questions
    • Parent/guardian acknowledgment of accurate information and consent to request middle school records

Step 2: Program Eligibility: Academic & Discipline Record Review

  • The 3DE Coordinator will request and review the students’ academic and disciplinary records from their middle school.
  • Students must meet the program's minimum 70% academic and behavioral expectations; minor infractions.
  • Course Options: The program offers a variety of academic tracks, including Honors, AP, and On-Level courses, allowing scholars to customize their educational plan.     
  • Honors Course Eligibility: Middle school students who wish to enroll in Honors and/or AP courses must have earned 80% or higher in their core content classes.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Georgia Milestones Eligibility for Magnet Program
  • Students applying to the magnet program must meet the following requirements:

  • Georgia Milestones PerformanceApplicants must have achieved Level 3 or higher on their Georgia Milestones middle school assessments.

  • Academic Support Restrictions: Students requiring Algebra or Reading support are not eligible for the 3DE Magnet Program.

Step 3: 3DE Coordinator School Visits, Tours & Virtual Information Sessions

  • From September through January, the 3DE Coordinator will visit feeder middle schools (McNair, Woodland, and Main Street Academy) to provide students with program information and answer questions. Other schools can request a recruitment visit on their campus.
  • Virtual program interest meetings will be available for students and parents who wish to learn more about the 3DE Magnet Program. Information about virtual dates is shared with all middle schools and social media. 
  • Parents interested in an in-person tour of the program at Banneker High School can contact the 3DE Coordinator to schedule a visit.

Step 4: Interview (if applicable)

  • Some applicants may be invited for an interview to assess motivation, problem-solving skills, and alignment with the 3DE program’s goals.

Step 5: Admissions Decision & Notification

  • Admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis as applications are received and reviewed.
  • Parents/guardians will receive an acceptance email with the next steps.
  • If a student is not accepted, parents will be notified and provided feedback (if applicable).

Step 6: Acceptance Confirmation & Next Steps

  • Parents must confirm their child’s acceptance into the program.
  • Parents must notify the 3DE Coordinator immediately if a student declines the offer.
  • Accepted students will receive details regarding orientation, program expectations, and next steps.

Step 7: Enrollment & Program Expectations

  • Once enrolled, students must adhere to all academic, behavioral, and participation expectations of the 3DE Magnet Program.

Step 8: Complete School Links Assessment

  • All applicants must complete the School Links Platform located in Classlink to assess their academic interests, career goals, and readiness for the program. The 3DE Counselor will complete this in the 3DE-CTAE courses. 
  • The survey helps identify student needs for academic and non-academic support.

Uprising 11th & 12th Criteria in Program

To support the expansion of our 3DE recruitment efforts for the  MSA certification, we will now accept 11th and 12th-grade students under the following updated criteria:

  • Pathway Commitment
    Students must be willing to complete either the Financial Services or Marketing pathway, based on their transcript and current grade level.

  • Course Requirements
    Students must be willing to participate in Dual Enrollment and take Marketing Research during their 12th-grade year.

Testing & Assessment Requirements

3DE Magnet students are required to participate in all program-mandated assessments at their prescribed grade levels, including:

  • PSAT

  • SAT

  • ACT

  • MAPS

  • AP College Board Exams

  • High School Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS)

  • YouScience career and Aptitude assessment
